Jermaine Fowler has joined the cast of the fifth season of Only Murders in the Building. Details about the new character who will cross paths with Mabel (Selena Gomez), Charles (Steve Martin) and Oliver (Martin Short) remain under wraps, as the team behind the Hulu smash hit wants to keep plenty of surprises hidden for when the series returns later this year. The latest season of Only Murder in the Building will follow the crew as they attempt to find the truth behind Lester’s (Teddy Coluca) death. Yet another killer is loose in New York City in the upcoming episodes of one of the biggest comedies in recent years.

Jermaine Fowler is joining the cast of Only Murders in the Building after starring as Wes in Ricky Stanicky. The Prime Video comedy featuring John Cena proved that Fowler is ready to take his career as a comedic actor to new heights. Before that, the performer was seen as Martin Mitchell in A Murder at the End of the World. Considering how Jermaine Fowler has been working on comedies and murder mysteries over the past few years, it was only a matter of time until he was recruited for new episodes of Only Murders in the Building.

The fifth season of Only Murders in the Building has also recruited several famous stars who will make their debut in the popular Hulu comedy. Christoph Waltz, Renée Zellweger and Keegan-Michael Key are some of the names audiences will see in the credits of the series once it returns to the streaming platform. Zellweger recently returned to one of the most iconic roles of her career in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy. Only Murders in the Building is sparing no expense when it comes to guest stars of its upcoming fifth installment.

The Scene of the Crime

The fourth season of Only Murders in the Building was supposed to have a satisfying conclusion thanks to Oliver and Loretta’s (Meryl Streep) wedding. But everything changed for the trio of detectives when they found Lester’s body in a fountain. The doorman had been a loyal friend to the people who lived in the Arconia since the very first season of the series. Now, it will be up to Oliver, Mabel and Charles to find the killer. This will be another emotional ride for the protagonists of Only Murders in the Building, after the last season of the series forced the trio to confront Sazz’s (Jane Lynch) death.

Only Murders in the Building returns to Hulu later this year.
