‘The Audacity’: Zach Galifianakis to Star in AMC, Jonathan Glatzer’s Silicon Valley Drama!!

This just in — AMC’s upcoming Silicon Valley drama is officially titled The Audacity and has just added Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover) to its cast. Created by Jonathan Glatzer (Better Call Saul), the show explores the lives of billionaires, struggles, and dreamers in the bubble of California’s technological hub. While Billy Magnussen (Road House) headlines The Audacity as Duncan, Galifianakis takes on the recurring role of Carl Bardolph, a disillusioned tech entrepreneur who has no interest in returning to Silicon Valley.

The ensemble cast of the show includes Sarah Goldberg, Lucy Punch, Simon Helberg, Rob Corddry, Meaghan Rath, Paul Adelstein, and Everett Blunck in prominent roles. Glatzer serves as the writer, showrunner, and executive producer on the eight-episode first season of The Audacity. Set against the backdrop of the modern tech revolution, the characters will navigate their personal lives and deal with the real-world impacts of AI, big data as they chase unicorn status.

According to the show’s logline, the story is around a rift between tech CEO Duncan and his self-serving “performance psychologist.” The drama kicks off when a scandal exposes the exploitation of personal data and quickly spirals out of control for everyone involved. Through its premise, The Audacity tackles topics including misguided corporate cultures, moony innovation labs, and cutthroat private high schools that are shaping the future of the tech world.

AMC’s Acorn TV Greenlights Crime Drama Starring Brooke Shields

Pretty Baby star Brooke Shields is set to star in and executive produce Acorn TV’s upcoming crime drama, Allie & Andi. The six-episode murder mystery series created by Robin Bernheim marks the second time she and Shields are working together. The two first collaborated on Netflix’s Mother of the Bride starring Shields, Benjamin Bratt, and Miranda Cosgrove.

Allie & Andi stars Shields as a best-selling novelist who joins forces with an aspiring writer as they try to solve a close friend’s murder. The series is a co-production between AMC Studios and Dynamic Television, and is set to go into production in fall 2025 with a potential 2026 release. In a press release from AMC Networks, Shields shared how happy she was to be working with Bernheim again. The actress revealed that the upcoming show is a story of two strong, smart women that the audience will want to root for.

Shields added that the storytelling of the show resonated with her and that she can’t wait for the world to see the project. Rob Fox, EVP, Production, AMC Studios, was all praises for the upcoming show and referred to Shields as a “powerhouse” that anchors the story. Fox claimed that the Acorn TV audience will not be disappointed by Allie & Andi’s vibrant ride.” For now, the rest of the show’s cast remains under wraps.

The Audacity is slated for a 2025 release. A premiere date for the show has not been announced yet.
