Netflix has already recruited Robert De Niro for the crime thriller that promises to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. The star power from The Whisper Man continues to grow as the streaming platform prepares for principal photography to start soon. The story of the novel deals with the aftermath of an emotional tragedy.
The Whisper Man follows a widow crime writer who finds out that his young son is missing. The author is forced to look for a retired detective as a desperate measure. The trail of clues eventually leads the main characters of this story to confront a very old cold case related to a killer tagged as The Whisper Man. With the clock ticking against him, the author is forced to do whatever it takes to get his son back. The original Whisper Man novel was published more than five years ago. Alex North has finally found the right place to bring his story to the small screen.
Before being cast in The Whisper Man, Michael Keaton returned to one of his most iconic roles in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. The sequel directed by Tim Burton saw Keaton becoming everyone’s favorite problematic ghost once again. Jenna Ortega was welcomed into the franchise after working with the filmmaker during the development of Wednesday. Michael Keaton was also seen as Bruce Wayne in The Flash. One of the final movies from the DC Extended Universe saw Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) going through different universes in order to fix his personal life. Keaton was allowed to return as the protector of Gotham City to help stop a cataclysmic event.
Who Directs ‘The Whisper Man’?
The Whisper Man will be directed by James Ashcroft. The filmmaker previously worked on The Rule of Jenny Pen and a wide variety of short films. Ashcroft was also a part of the crew that worked on Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Last year’s blockbuster ushered the Monsterverse into a new era. The Russo brothers will serve as producers for The Whisper Man through their production company, AGBO. The filmmakers will expand on their relationship with Netflix thanks to the project, after they recently worked with the streaming giant on The Electric State. The Russo Brothers are now busy with the production of the highly-anticipated Avengers: Doomsday.
