‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Lengthy Runtime Revealed!!

Jurassic World Rebirth is set to hit theaters on July 2, and a major detail about how the film fits in with the rest of the franchise has finally been revealed. AMC Theaters and Regal have both listed Jurassic World Rebirth with a runtime of 2:14, which makes it the second-longest film in the franchise. This falls only behind the most recent installment, Jurassic World Dominion, which holds the record with 2:27. Rebirth’s runtime is 10 minutes longer than the first Jurassic World, and seven minutes more than the first Jurassic Park. As part of our Exclusive Movie Preview Event, Collider debuted a new look at Jurassic World Rebirth at the start of April, showing Scarlett Johansson and Rupert Friend hunting for dinosaurs in the forest.

In addition to Johansson and Friend, Jurassic World Rebirth has assembled an all-star roster of talent to bring the next dinosaur adventure to life. Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali will also star as Duncan Kincaid in the film, and trailers paint him as a rugged explorer with knowledge of the terrain that will suit the team well. Bridgerton breakout star Jonathan Bailey has been tapped for the role of Dr. Henry Loomis, who seems to be the one interested in venturing into the jungle to search for dinosaur DNA as part of a medical advancement. Johansson will play Zora Bennett, the one tasked with keeping Dr. Loomis safe, and Friend’s Martin Krebs seems to just be along for the ride. Original Jurassic Park scribe David Koepp even wrote the screenplay for the film, which marks a return to the franchise’s roots.

Who Directed ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’?

After Colin Trevorrow helmed two of the last three Jurassic World installments, a new director has been brought in to usher in the next chapter. Gareth Edwards stepped behind the camera to direct Jurassic World Rebirth, which marks his first film since The Creator, the sci-fi epic led by John David Washington. Edwards is also known for his work on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the film that was such a success it spawned the prequel series, Andor. Before he ventured to a Galaxy Far, Far Away, Edwards also directed Godzilla in 2014 and Monsters in 2010. His experience working with large-scale and big beasts makes him the perfect candidate to helm the next Jurassic movie.

Jurassic World Rebirth hits theaters on July 2.
