‘Silo’ Season 3 Has Wrapped Filming!!

We’re officially one step closer to stepping back inside Silo 18. Apple TV+ announced via X with a behind-the-scenes photo that filming has wrapped on Season 3 of its critically acclaimed dystopian series Silo starring Rebecca Ferguson. Work isn’t done just yet on the Hugh Howey adaptation, though, as the series lead previously teased to Collider and later confirmed that the fourth chapter of Juliette’s story will be filming back-to-back with the upcoming season. For those at home, however, it means the countdown is on until the show picks up from where that shocking finale left off. A release date has yet to be set.

Based on Howey‘s Wool trilogy and helmed by Graham Yost, Silo has centered on the remnants of humanity who have been kept sheltered from the inhospitable conditions outside in deep, suffocating multi-layered facilities known as Silos. The series has primarily followed Juliette Nichols as her investigations into the death of a colleague uncovered frightening secrets that challenge the entire order of the structures and everything the people within have been told about the world. Season 2, which debuted last year and was enough of a success to earn a two-season renewal just halfway through the run, picked up after she ventured beyond her Silo and saw the barren world around her, as well as other similar facilities in the distance. By the time the credits rolled on the finale, more secrets from the bottom of the Silos were uncovered and rebellion had taken hold, though Juliette had found a way to potentially save Silo 18. One final twist, however, showed that danger is graver than ever now that she’s returned.

Season 3 will also be following up on the flashback viewers received in the final moments of Season 2, which explored the potential origins of the silos. The finale returned to a less post-apocalyptic time in Washington D.C., where a congressman and a reporter discussed the current state of global relations after an incident involving a dirty bomb from Iran. Moreover, it directly connected back to Juliette and the silos after the former hands the latter a PEZ dispenser that eventually reaches Ferguson’s intrepid engineer. Both Ashley Zukerman and Jessica Henwick, the actors behind those two characters, will be back in much larger roles to explore the origins of the dystopian project in the past.

‘Silo’ Is Quickly Approaching the Finish Line

With filming wrapped on Season 3, Ferguson and company are now in the home stretch in terms of production. Season 4 was announced to be the final installment of Silo and, if the books are any indication, viewers are in for an emotional ride along the way that could take the series to its bleakest moments yet. Ferguson will be along for the entire twist-filled run, with the series featuring a cast that, throughout Season 2, featured Tim Robbins, Common, Steve Zahn, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Shane McRae, Remmie Milner, Billy Postlethwaite, Rick Gomez, Clare Perkins, Caitlin Zoz, Tanya Moodie, and Iain Glen.

Silo Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming on Apple TV+.
