‘7th Heaven’ Reboot in the Works with Jessica Biel Returning as Producer!!

Variety has reported that a 7th Heaven reboot series is officially in the works with Jessica Biel returning as a producer and Anthony Sparks showrunning. Michelle Purple will also produce the series along with Biel under their Iron Ocean Banner, with DeVon Franklin also attached to the reboot series as a producer with Franklin Entertainment. The reboot series will reportedly focus on a diverse family and will follow none of the original cast members, but the project is still in the early stages, meaning these details are subject to change. At the time of writing, no casting has been worked out, and it’s unclear where the series will stream or air. There is also no word on a potential release date or window.

The original 7th Heaven series was written and created for TV by Brenda Hampton, with Sue Tenny, Chris Olsen, and more working in the writer’s room on the series. There were 243 episodes of 7th Heaven, and only Stephen Collins played Rev. Eric Camden in all episodes. However, following behind him are Catherine Hicks and Beverley Mitchell, who each featured in 242 episodes of 7th Heaven as Annie and Lucy Camden, respectively. Happy the dog also starred in 242 episodes of 7th Heaven. Next up on the 7th Heaven casting list is Mackenzie Rosman, who can be seen in 236 episodes of the show. Other notable names to star in the series include Tyler Hoechlin, Jessica Biel, Ashlee Simpson, Rachel Blanchard, Chaz Lamar Shepherd, and more. There were 35 directors on 7th Heaven during its 11-season run, but none helmed more episodes than Joel J. Feigenbaum with 50.

What Else Has ‘7th Heaven’ Star Jessica Biel Been In?

Jessica Biel was nominated for an Emmy for her work in The Sinner — not to be confused with Ryan Coogler’s box office-busting Sinners — the police procedural series that ran from 2017-2021. Biel is also famous for starring alongside Edward Norton and Paul Giamatti in The Illusionist, the 2006 psychological thriller written and directed by Neil Burger. She further expanded her stardom six years later by working with Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale on Total Recall, the cyberpunk sci-fi thriller directed by Len Wiseman that also stars Bryan Cranston. Biel most recently featured in Pete the Cat, Limetown, and Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?

The 7th Heaven reboot series does not have an official release date or window.
