Tom Cruise Confirms He Has No Plans to Retire!!

One of Hollywood’s most bankable stars has declared his intentions to continue making movies well into his old age. That icon is none other than Tom Cruise, who most recently was involved in the eighth and final installment in the Mission: Impossible film series, The Final Reckoning. While the profitable franchise comes to an end this Friday, Cruise has voiced out about his future in acting, assuring fans that he’s certainly not done with his action roles and will keep entertaining until his 100s.

Following its debut last week at the Cannes Film Festival, Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning premiered in New York on Sunday night, where Cruise spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about his future in Hollywood. He was reminded of his quote two years ago when he mentioned being inspired by 80-year-old Harrison Ford’s career and wanted to keep making Mission: Impossible films until he was Ford’s age. When asked about the quote and if his mind had been changed, he declared:

“I actually said I’m going to make movies into my 80s; actually, I’m going to make them into my 100s. I will never stop. I will never stop doing action, I will never stop doing drama, comedy films — I’m excited.”

Amid the conversation, the award-winning actor also confirmed that Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning is the last chapter in the franchise, saying, “It’s the final! It’s not called ‘final’ for nothing.” This has been such a heartfelt journey for Cruise, who joined the franchise almost thirty years ago, and he didn’t hesitate to acknowledge the creatives he has worked with over these rewarding years. He added of the franchise’s contribution to his acting and producing prowess:

Everything that I’ve learned and continue to learn about storytelling, about life, about leadership, about character and every aspect of filmmaking. It’s been exceptional, it really is exceptional. I feel very fortunate to be able to make the films that I make, and I love it, I just [love] making movies.”

Tom Cruise Has Plans Beyond ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’

Others included in the cast list are Pom Klementieff, Greg Tarzan Davis, Esai Morales, Charles Parnell, Holt McCallany, Nick Offerman, Tramell Tillman and Katy O’Brian. Furthermore, Christopher McQuarrie returns as director, marking his fourth Mission: Impossible film.
