‘The Marlow Murder Club’ Renewed for Season 3!!

Today just got a whole lot better for fans of this cozy British detective series, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Digital Spy has officially confirmed that The Marlow Murder Club has been renewed for a third season, which comes shortly after Season 2’s arrival on small screens in the U.K. earlier this year. In addition, filming has already begun on the new installment with fan-favorites set to make an epic return. Keep in mind that Season 2 will land on PBS Masterpiece in the U.S. later this year.

Starring Jo Martin and Samantha Bond, the mystery series is inspired by Robert Thorogood‘s bestselling book series of the same name. Thorogood also created Death in Paradise and co-created the spin-offs Beyond Paradise and Return to Paradise. Meanwhile, Season 3 of The Marlow Murder Club will be based on the third book in the franchise, Queen of Poisons, with Thorogood having also co-written the first two episodes of the installment alongside Daniel Rusteau.

Series stars set to return to The Marlow Murder Club’s next season include Cara Horgan and Natalie Dew, reprising their roles as Becks Starling and Detective Tanika Malik, alongside fellow series regulars Holli Dempsey, Phill Langhorne, and Tijan Sarr. What’s more? The delightful chapter will comprise six episodes, like Season 2, with three new murder mysteries to solve, unfolding over two episodes each.

What Is ‘The Marlow Murder Club’ Season 3 About?

As teased by its official synopsis, The Marlow Murder Club Season 3 will see the retired archaeologist Judith Potts (Bond), dog walker Suzie Harris (Martin) and Vicar’s wife, Becks Starling (Horgan) make a delightful comeback, bringing their unconventional methods to a string of high-profile murders, now that they’re an established part of newly promoted DI Tanika Malik’s (Dew) crime solving team. The logline continues:

From the sudden death of the nicest man in Marlow, the town’s beloved Mayor, to a celebrity chef found dead at the launch of his cookbook with half the town in attendance, the team will be working under the watchful eye of the Marlow community. They’ll also be called to action at a university reunion in an eerie manor house where, in a surprising twist, Becks finds herself amongst the suspects. Could this case threaten our amateur sleuths’ roles as civilian advisors?

No release date has been set yet for The Marlow Murder Club Season 3, but stay tuned to Collider for further news. Also, the British series will stream via the PBS app, PBS.org, and PBS MASTERPIECE on Prime Video.
