‘The Secret of Secrets’: Netflix to Adapt Upcoming ‘Da Vinci Code’ Sequel!!

Netflix has scored the next adaptation from one of the most successful authors in history. The streaming platform will produce an adaptation of The Secret of Secrets, the next book by Dan Brown. The company obtained the rights for the project after a competitive bidding war that saw several studios and production companies trying to get their hands on this story. Netflix selected Carlton Cuse as the showrunner for the untitled series based on The Secret of Secrets. Staffing for the project is currently underway, with the studio eager to move towards pre-production in the near future.

The Secret of Secrets is the next installment in the series of books centered around Robert Langdon. The acclaimed symbologist is constantly recruited to find hidden meaning in places where no one else would be able to detect a pattern. The book will be released on September 9. Robert Langdon was previously portrayed by Tom Hanks in The Da Vinci Code, the movie directed by Ron Howard that took in more than $760 million at the global box office. It’s currently unknown if Netflix will recruit Hanks for the upcoming series, or if another artist will get the opportunity to portray this iconic character.

Dan Brown‘s career has spanned over the course of decades. The writer is known around the world for the care he puts into the adventures starring Robert Langdon. The latest installment of the series, Origin, was published in 2017. Almost a decade has passed since the last time viewers got the chance to sink their teeth into a Robert Langdon story. The Secret of Secrets will be Netflix‘s next literary treasure, after the streaming platform turned Bridgerton and Heartstopper into successful television series.

The Return of Robert Langdon

Audiences will be reunited with Robert Langdon after a very long time. Years after The Da Vinci Code became a massive success, a sequel was produced. Ron Howard returned to direct Inferno. However, the sequel didn’t turn out to be as successful as its predecessor, despite the inclusion of Felicity Jones as part of the cast. Peacock tried to bring Robert Langdon back with their Lost Symbol television series. Ashley Zukerman took on the role of the symbologist, but the project was canceled after only one season had been released. Hopefully, Netflix will have better luck with the character once their adaptation of The Secret of Secrets premieres.

The series based on The Secret of Secrets will premiere on Netflix in the near future.
