‘Peacemaker’ Season 2: New Images Teases Michael Rooker’s New DC Villain! Check It Out!!

We’re less than three months away from the premiere of Peacemaker Season 2, and John Cena’s hit DCU series just got an exciting new look. Entertainment Weekly has released three new images from the upcoming show, including one featuring The Suicide Squad veteran Michael Rooker. After briefly playing Savant in the 2021 superhero film, Rooker will now portray Red St. Wild in Peacemaker Season 2, the world’s foremost eagle-hunter, whose sole mission is to kill Eagly. The other new images include looks at returning stars such as Cena, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, Steve Agee, and Danielle Brooks. Peacemaker Season 2 will debut on Max on August 21, and James Gunn also recently confirmed that only one episode of the show will premiere at launch.

Peacemaker Season 2 will be the first DCU project after Superman, the major tentpole led by David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, that will officially hard-launch Gunn’s new cinematic universe. Fans already got a taste of what to expect with Creature Commandos, but it won’t be until the first film hits the big screen that we see just how alive this world is. It’s been a long road to the screen for Peacemaker Season 2, also. Season 1 premiered back in 2022, and the show was an instant hit. Spun off Gunn’s Suicide Squad reboot, Peacemaker was lauded for its powerful and mature storytelling and Cena’s career-best performance, so Season 2 of the series was a no-brainer. However, when James Gunn took over as the new creative head of DC, there were other things to focus on that took precedence, which led to Peacemaker Season 2 being put on the back burner while other things were worked out.

John Cena still holds the Undisputed WWE Championship belt. He most recently defended his title against Randy Orton at Backlash, and although he faced former lifelong friend R-Truth at Saturday Night’s Main Event, their match was not for the title. It’s unclear at this time who Cena will defend the title against next, but it has been confirmed that he will take on Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso while teaming up with Logan Paul at Money in the Bank. Cena recently interfered in a match between Uso and Paul for the World Heavyweight Championship.
