It’s only been six weeks since Daredevil: Born Again aired its Season 1 finale, but production on Season 2 commenced shortly before the series premiered on Disney+. Daredevil: Born Again was announced as a two-season series several years ago, which meant fans didn’t have to wait around for a renewal announcement. Although it didn’t seem like any bigger names could join the cast after Matthew Lillard, it was recently announced that Krysten Ritter would reprise her role as Jessica Jones in Season 2 of the Marvel Disney+ series. Now, new set footage of Daredevil: Born Again has been posted online showing Ritter’s Jessica Jones on a rooftop with Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock. The new footage can be found below, and it even features a new look at Daredevil’s black suit that he’ll wear in Season 2.
It was a long road to Disney+ for Daredevil: Born Again, but the show can safely be considered a hit for Marvel after its first season. It earned a strong 87% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and even the audience-driven Popcornmeter lands at 80%. Not only did the show return Charlie Cox to his role as Matt Murdock in a leading role, but it also brought back Vincent D’Onofrio to play Kingpin and Jon Bernthal to punish his enemies as Frank Castle. It’s also been announced that Bernthal will lead a Punisher spin-off series that’s expected on Disney+ next year, but it’s unclear if any other Marvel stars will feature in the show. Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson also reprised their roles as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson in Daredevil: Born Again Season 1.
When Is ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2 Coming Out?
It’s already been confirmed that Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will be released next year, around the same time that Season 1 debuted this year. Season 2 has been in production for several months now, and it’s likely set to wrap up soon, which will leave the rest of the year to work on post-production. Plenty of Marvel projects, especially ones on Disney+, have felt rushed in the last few years, but the Daredevil: Born Again team should have all the time they need to make sure Season 2 is up to snuff.
