‘Squid Game’ Season 3 Trailer Invites To Play One Last Time!! Check It Out!!

The final season of Squid Game is right around the corner, and Netflix has made its biggest series of all time one of the centerpieces at Tudum this weekend. The streamer has dropped the final trailer for Squid Game Season 3, which is coming to the platform on June 27. In typical Netflix fashion, all episodes of the show will premiere at the same time instead of in parts or one episode per week. Squid Game Season 3 will see Lee Jung-jae return to his iconic role of Seong Gi-hun to face off against the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) one last time. Gi-hun watched Front Man murder one of his best friends right in front of him at the end of Season 2, so his drive for vengeance is higher than ever.

The first season of Squid Game premiered on Netflix in September 2021, and it wasted no time, becoming not only the biggest foreign language show in Netflix history, but the biggest original series the platform has ever released. The first season of Squid Game hauled in 265 million viewers, and the only show to even come close is the debut season of Wednesday, the Jenna Ortega-led horror series from Tim Burton. Wednesday earned 252 million views, which was enough to edge out the 192 million views earned by Squid Game Season 2. The fourth season of Stranger Things falls well behind this with 140 million views, and some other popular English shows to earn a spot on this list include Adolescence with 140 million views, Dahmer with 115 million views, and Bridgerton Season 1 with 113 million views.

What Happens in ‘Squid Game’ Season 2?

Squid Game Season 2 picks up after Seong Gi-hun has won the games, and he now has a new goal. He’s using his winnings to hire a team to help search for any information about the games, particularly how to get back into them as a contestant, so he can stop them. He places a tracking tooth in his mouth as he finds his way back into the games, only to wake up on the island with it removed, and his team left with no way to find him. Front Man, well aware of his goals, joins the games and teams up with Gi-hun only to turn on him at the end.

Squid Game Season 3 premieres on Netflix on June 27.
