‘Please Don’t Feed the Children’: Tubi to Release New Post-Apocalyptic Horror!!

Tubi requests that you Please Don’t Feed the Children this month. The upcoming post-apocalyptic chiller, which stars Michelle Dockery and Giancarlo Esposito, will debut exclusively on the free, ad-supported streamer. The film is also the feature directorial debut of Destry Allyn Spielberg, the daughter of Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw. Please Don’t Feed the Children will premiere on Tubi on Friday, June 27.

The film is set in the near future, after a deadly viral outbreak has killed most of the adult population. A group of children orphaned by the plague attempt to find a new home, but they’re soon taken hostage by a mysterious woman (Dockery, Downton Abbey) with a terrible secret. It also stars Esposito (The Mandalorian), Zoe Colletti (Only Murders In The Building), Andrew Liner (Vampire Academy), Dean Scott Vazquez (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts), Regan Aliyah (Ironheart), Emma Meisel (Doogie Kameāloha, M.D.), Josh Melnick (Saint X), and NFL veteran Vernon Davis (Chariot). Says Spielberg, “I am incredibly grateful to be doing what I love with a hard working cast and crew. It has been a wild ride getting here, and I can’t wait to share this film with everyone.”

Who Are the Creatives Behind ‘Please Don’t Feed the Children’?

Please Don’t Feed the Children is the debut feature for Spielberg; she previously directed the short films Rosie and Let Me Go the Right Way, and had acting roles in I Know This Much Is True and Licorice Pizza. The film’s script is by newcomer Paul Bertino. The film is produced by Jason Dubin, Josh Kesselman, Michael Hagerty, Daniel Ryniker, and Bill Kenwright, and was executive produced by star Dockery, Phil Hunt Compton, Ross Daniel Negret, Will Clarke, Andy Mayson, Mike Runagall, David Gilbery, Naomi George, Ben Kaye, Steven Schneider, Joe Health, Owen King, Kimberly Atwood, and Atty Cleworth.

Although Tubi may seem like a less-than-auspicious debut, it recalls the earlier career of Steven Spielberg. He made his debut with a segment of the Rod Serling TV anthology film Night Gallery, and would helm episodes of Columbo, Marcus Welby, and The Name of the Game. His first film, Duel, was made as a TV movie for ABC; however, the man vs. trucker thriller was so well-received that it was given a theatrical release internationally, and is now considered a highlight of his early filmography.

Please Don’t Feed the Children will be released exclusively on Tubi on June 27, 2025.
