‘Twisted Metal’ Season 2 Clip Teases Calypso’s Tournament!! Check It Out!!

Twisted Metal will return to Peacock at the end of next month, and Anthony Mackie’s hit action series just revved up with an exciting new look. Mackie stars in a new sneak peek at Twisted Metal Season 2, showing the tournament hosted by Calypso (Anthony Carrigan). The clip includes best-in-class action that promises to amp things up from Season 1, which was a hit among audiences. Twisted Metal Season 1 was moderately well-received by critics, earning a 67% on the aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes, but the show also earned a 93% on the audience-driven Popcornmeter. In addition to Mackie, Twisted Metal also stars Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Joe Seanoa (WWE), Will Arnett (The LEGO Batman Movie), and Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man 3). Season 2 releases on Peacock on July 31.

Following the twisted events of Season 1, Twisted Metal Season 1 will follow John (Mackie) and Quiet (Beatriz) as they find themselves in the middle of the Twisted Metal tournament, hosted by the unhinged Calypso (Carrigan). The single greatest prize anyone can have awaits for the duo if they’re able to come out of the Twisted Metal tournament as the victors: one single wish to their heart’s greatest desires, granted. No strings attached. Unfortunately, 16 other drivers are also after the prize. John and Quiet will face off against an onslaught of dangerous new foes — new and familiar alike — but things get especially complicated for John when he reunites with his long-lost sister, Dollface. Twisted Metal was written and created for television by Michael Jonathan Smith, who also executive produces the series along with Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

Anthony Mackie Starred in One of 2025’s Biggest Movies

Twisted Metal star Anthony Mackie made his big-screen debut as Captain America earlier this year in Captain America: Brave New World. The film was poorly received by critics on Rotten Tomatoes, earning a “rotten” 48% on the Tomatometer, but the audience-driven Popcornmeter landed at a much more respectable 78%. The film grossed $413 million at the global box office, and it’s poised to finish with a higher total than Thunderbolts*, which still trails Mackie’s Captain America film by over $40 million at the time of writing. Mackie will reprise his role as Captain America in Avengers: Doomsday next year.

Twisted Metal Season 2 debuts on Peacock on July 31.
