We’re now more than two years removed from the Ted Lasso Season 3 finale, and while it seemed at the time like this would be the final installment of the series, it’s since been announced that another season is in the works. Details about Ted Lasso Season 4, such as who will return or what the story will be, are few and far between at this time, but it looks like things are moving forward quicker than we expected. One of the few names confirmed to star in Season 4 is Brendan Hunt, who will reprise his role as Coach Board. Hunt recently caught up with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of Elio, and he dropped a thrilling update when asked how things are going with Ted Lasso Season 4:

“I can’t wait. I will wait, because I have to, but yeah, we’re getting going on that. We start shooting pretty soon so…”

While the news of Ted Lasso Season 4 has been received mostly positively by fans of the show, some are staunchly against it. It’s hard to blame them, too, considering Season 3 wraps up with Ted (Jason Sudeikis) going back home after coaching soccer in England for three years. Although it came a bit abruptly, it was the perfect ending for Ted, who spent his time across the pond grappling with the most important things to him, like being a good father and husband. It’s unclear if Season 4 will pick up with Ted back in England or if he’ll be coaching an American team, but as long as the show brings all the same laughs and heart, fans will accept it all the same. Creator Bill Lawrence is returning to write Season 4.

When Does ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4 Come Out?

Apple TV+ has yet to assign Ted Lasso Season 4 an official release date, but if production is scheduled to begin soon, its most likely window for release would be sometime next year. This would leave about a three-year gap between the third and fourth seasons, despite the show seemingly coming to a close, but this is a smaller gap than what Stranger Things is currently in the middle of. The fourth season of Stranger Things was released in 2022, and fans are still waiting for Season 5, which we now know will debut on November 26 later this year.
