The second season of Shane Gillis’ hit comedy series, Tires, debuted earlier this year, and now Netflix has finally addressed the future of the 55% Rotten Tomatoes series. Netflix has officially confirmed that Tires has been renewed for a third season, which is expected to begin streaming in 2026. This decision comes with little shock — the second season of Tires was far more successful than the first, earning stronger viewership and better scores from both critics and audiences on the world’s leading aggregate site. Tires Season 1 premiered with a “rotten” 40% from critics and an 87% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and Season 2 built upon this with a 71% critic’s score and an 89% rating on the audience-driven Popcornmeter. The show also stars Steve Gerben.
In addition to starring in the show, Steve Gerben also created the series with Gillis and John McKeever, who has directed all 18 episodes to date. Spider-Man veteran Thomas Haden Church even joined the cast of Tires Season 2 as Shane’s father Phil, and he added another layer of comedic relief that took the show up a few notches. Joe Derosa, Michael J. Gleason, Amy MacLeish-Milligan, Bobby Telatovich, and Chris O’Connor also worked in the writer’s room on Tires, with Gillis and Gerben also producing. Shane Gillis also has a comedy special, Beautiful Dogs, currently streaming on Netflix alongside the first and second seasons of Tires. You can also see his Tires co-star, Andrew Schulz, in the stand-up Life. Kilah Fox, Stavros Halkias, Peter Reeves, Tommy Pope, Veronika Slowikowska, Ryan Farrell, and Alexa Albanese also star in Tires.
What’s Popular on Netflix Right Now?
The third and final season of Squid Game arrived on Netflix last week, and it has easily overtaken The Waterfront to earn the #1 spot on streaming charts. Other shows such as Ginny & Georgia also remain in the top 10, along with Sirens and Tires, which is hanging on to the tenth spot at the time of writing. As for movies, Gerard Butler’s hit action movie, Plane, has been one of the most popular movies on Netflix for the last month, but it finally looks poised to exit the top 10 soon. Robert De Niro’s The Intern is also a hit on Netflix right now.
Tires Season 3 is coming in 2026.
