One of the best stars from Brooklyn Nine-Nine is officially stepping away from comedy. Craig Robinson, known for his role as Doug Judy in the successful comedy starring Andy Samberg and Melissa Fumero, has announced that his time as a comedic performer has come to an end. Robinson will now focus on a small business he intends to open soon. The announcement might come as a surprise to fans who were expecting to see the actor in other successful television comedy projects.
In Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Craig Robinson stole every scene he was in as Doug Judy. Much to Captain Holt’s (Andre Braugher) dismay, Jake Peralta (Samberg) continued to trust the unpredictable criminal played by Robinson. Throughout the many seasons of the series, Judy continued to work alongside Peralta before stabbing him in the back. Doug Judy announced he was moving to Amsterdam with his wife during his last appearance on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. But before the character got married, he was constantly trying to flirt with Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz).
Craig Robinson‘s voice will return to the big screen this summer thanks to The Bad Guys 2. The DreamWorks Animation sequel will mark the return of Mr. Wolf (Sam Rockwell), Mr. Snake (Marc Maron) and the other reformed criminals who turned the first installment of the franchise into a smash hit for the studio. Robinson voices Mr. Shark, the adorable character who works as the team’s master of disguise, and constantly gets out of dangerous situations with his ability to make the group look like different people.
Craig Robinson’s Character in ‘The Office’
Craig Robinson entertained the world as Doug Judy in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but the comedic actor was also a stand-out as Darryl Philbin in The Office. The character’s origins were only a taste of what was to come for Darryl over the course of the series. The young man went from not being a part of the main cast to getting his own office, becoming a close friend to both Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) and Andy Bernard (Ed Helms). The Office wouldn’t have been the same without Darryl’s enthusiasm and safety input.
Darryl was in charge of safety at Dundler Mifflin over the course of The Office, which is why Michael Scott’s (Steve Carell) constant misadventures turned out to be a headache for the character. Nevertheless, Darryl managed to find his place in the world thanks to the deep connections he shared with his friends. The Office also featured Rainn Wilson, Jenna Fischer, and B.J. Novak as part of the cast, giving Robinson the opportunity to take Darryl to the next level thanks to his on-screen chemistry with these performers.
All episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Office are now streaming on Peacock.
