‘Non-Stop’: Underrated 2014 Liam Neeson led Action Thriller is Streaming for Free on Tubi!!

In an era in which streaming platforms keep raising their prices, having platforms that offer free movies and TV shows is increasingly important. It’s even better when those platforms include titles that we’ve been dying to rewatch or have kept on our watchlists forever. This month, Tubi has brought one of Liam Neeson‘s most electrifying action thrillers to its catalog, and the overlooked gem is even better than Taken. Released in 2014, Non-Stop is now available to stream for free on the platform.

The story of Non-Stop is the kind that keeps you on the edge of your seat. In it, Neeson plays Bill Marks, a former NYPD officer who became a U.S. Air Marshal. One of his most important flights of his career is a transatlantic one that goes from New York to London. The flight turns into a horror story when a terrorist announces that he will kill one person every 20 minutes — unless $150 million is transferred to a bank account of his choosing. The situation gets even worse when the flight crew starts to suspect that Bill himself is the one making the threats.

One thing is for sure: Non-Stop probably wouldn’t exist if Liam Neeson never starred in Taken. The 2008 movie is the one that launched the Irish star into the action-thriller world, and fans refer to his “very specific set of skills” to this day. However, critics think that Non-Stop is better than Taken — the former holds a 62% score on Rotten Tomatoes, while the latter received a 60% average score on the platform.

When it comes to fans, however, the situation is entirely different. The audience score of Taken is wildly superior, at a whopping 85%, while the Non-Stop audience score is just slightly better than the critics’ ratings at 63%. So which one is really better? It depends on what entertains you. While Taken has a bigger focus on the action and portrays Neeson as a one-man army, Non-Stop is more insidious and claustrophobic, the kind of story in which you feel like nobody can be trusted – and just wait for the big reveal of who the hidden killer is.

The cast of Non-Stop also features Julianne Moore (Echo Valley), Lupita Nyong’o (A Quiet Place: Day One), Scoot McNairy (A Complete Unknown), Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey), Corey Stoll (The Better Sister), Corey Hawkins (Poker Face), Shea Whigham (F1: The Movie), and Omar Metwally (Doc). The flick is helmed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Carry-On), who worked with Neeson on The Commuter and Run All Night.
