The day after Netflix released the first official poster for Stranger Things Season 5, the hit Netflix sci-fi series just took another major step forward. Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, which will debut its first set of episodes on November 26. The second part of Stranger Things Season 5 will be released on Christmas, with the finale airing on New Year’s Eve. The first trailer for Stranger Things Season 5 features the return of Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), along with the Hawkins kids and even the fan-favorite Demogorgon. David Harbour and Winona Ryder will also reprise their roles as Hopper and Joyce Byers in Stranger Things Season 5. The show is created by Ross and Matt Duffer.
While the Duffer Brothers have directed the most episodes of the series at 24, Shawn Levy follows behind them after helming nine episodes. Levy recently directed the hit Marvel tentpole Deadpool & Wolverine, and he’s been tapped to direct Star Wars: Starfighter, the 2027 Star Wars film starring Ryan Gosling. Rounding out the rest of the Stranger Things Season 5 cast are Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp, and Sadie Sink, who all appear in the trailer, officially confirming their expected returns in the fifth and final season. Fan-favorite Joe Keery will also reprise his role as Steve Harrington, with Natalie Dyer and Charlie Heaton returning as Nancy Wheeler and Jonathan Byers. Stranger Things Season 5 will follow the kids after the devastating events of Season 4, still on the run from Vecna, but now forced to take the fight to him to survive.
The ‘Stranger Things’ Kids Are Stars Now
While the kids of Stranger Things will always be inseparable from their roles in the series, most of them have gone on to feature in other projects, especially in the last few years, while the show has been on break. Millie Bobby Brown can be seen alongside Henry Cavill in the Enola Holmes movies, and also opposite Chris Pratt in The Electric State. Finn Wolfhard recently featured with Willem Dafoe in the A24 hit, The Legend of Ochi, and Sadie Sink has been set for a role opposite Tom Holland in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Stranger Things Season 5, Part 1 will be released on November 26. Check out the first official trailer above and watch the first four seasons of Stranger Things on Netflix.
