The specks of dirt are clearing today, and we’re excited to exclusively share the debut image of Dust Bunny with the world. In what has been a three-year-long process, the latest project to come from Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies, Hannibal) will officially be shaking off the cobwebs and arriving in a theater near you later this year. With an all-star cast that includes Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal), Sigourney Weaver (Alien), David Dastmalchian (The Life of Chuck), and Sophie Sloan (Chemistry of Death), our first look pulls viewers into the newest incredibly vibrant, yet dangerous world created by Fuller.

The vibe is giving Alice in Wonderland in our exclusive first-look shot of Dust Bunny, as shades of pink, purple, blue, green — and just about every pastel you could imagine — jump out. Sitting on a puffy, dark green couch and seated around a table that serves as the resting place for a teapot, plate of finger sandwiches, and more are the characters portrayed by Mikkelsen, Weaver, and Sloan. While we don’t know what they’re chatting about, the two adults seem to be hanging onto the child’s words, as they both listen intently and appear a bit concerned. Just as colorful as the set that surrounds them, each of the main players is dressed in an eye-popping outfit.

In what’s being billed as a Wicked Fairy Tale/Horror, Dust Bunny centers around a young girl named Aurora (Sloan) who seeks out her neighbor (Mikkelsen) for help after she believes her family has been gobbled up by a monster living under her bed. The neighbor just so happens to be a skilled hitman, who is fairly certain that the child’s parents may have been the accidental victims of a group looking to assassinate him. Keeping his young neighbor safe becomes the hitman’s top priority, as both characters go on a mission to face down their monsters side by side.

Meet the Mind Behind ‘Dust Bunny’

Known for decades for his work in television, Fuller makes his feature-length directorial debut with Dust Bunny. Fans of the uber-popular productions Pushing Daisies and Hannibal will know Fuller as the creator behind both titles, with his fantastical horror film serving as a reunion between him and Mikkelsen, who worked alongside one another on Hannibal. Additionally, Fuller has also left his stamp on the Star Trek universe, penning episodes of Voyager and Deep Space Nine, as well as holding co-creator credits for Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Short Treks.
