‘Hawkeye’ Season 2: Jeremy Renner Provides Surprising Hopeful Update!!

Jeremy Renner is a real-life Avenger, the actor’s return after his near-fatal 2023 snowplow accident is proof of it and fans can’t wait to see him again in the MCU. He is among the actors who have been in almost every phase of the long-running franchise like fellow co-stars Tom Hiddleston and Sebastiaan Stan. Renner was last seen in Hawkeye series which marks the debut of Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop. While we’ve seen Renner’s Clint Barton going on a hiatus couple of times, his return to character after the accident is even more anticipated. While Renner previously cast doubt on his return, in a new interview with Empire Magazine, he seemed to be more hopeful of Hawkeye Season 2.

I’m always happy to be in that world, man,” he says of the MCU. “I love all those guys, I love the character.” Hawkeye is set in the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame where we see Clint grieving and grappling with the consequences of fighting aliens while standing tall among superpowered beings. His path also crosses with Kate Bishop as the two take down the mafia. It’s among the few MCU series that were well received. So, season 2 is highly anticipated.

Despite casting doubt upon his return in the past, he assured fans “I’m sure we’ll end up doing Season 2, and do other things. And I’m happy to do it,” he said. He further hinted at the fact that he’s ready to take on any physically demanding challenge that the role can present including the iconic leaping in air, twisting and shooting an arrow. “My body’s getting ready for something like that. I don’t know if anybody wants to see me in tights, but my body will look good in the tights. That’s where I’m at. I’m more than 150 per cent of what I was prior to the incident.”

Where Can We See Clint Barton Next in the MCU?

Renner is the OG Avenger and his character has always been instrumental in bringing the team together. He had a brief appearance in Thor and went on to appear in all major Avengers movies. He continued the stint with Disney+ series which feels like a natural place to bring him back. Although, given the Avengers will soon assemble to take on Doctor Doom, Hawkeye’s presence will only add cherry to the cake that’s Avengers: Doomsday. Furthermore, he can be a good addition to the battle world of Avengers: Secret Wars. Nonetheless, where he can pop up next is anyone’s guess.

Hawkeye Season 1 is streaming on Disney+.
