‘Wednesday’ Producers Confirms Xavier Thorpe Won’t Return!!

Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) made a grand return to her titular show less than twenty-four hours ago alongside some of your favorite characters, including the ever-cheerful Enid (Emma Myers). However, one familiar face was missing from the bunch, in the person of Xavier Thorpe (Percy Hynes White), who, as mentioned in the first episode of Season 2, is now enrolled at the Reichenbach Academy in Switzerland. The episode also showed a special package from the character to Wednesday, a creepy goodbye gift in the form of one of his paintings, since he couldn’t get through to her on the phone.

That’s apparently the last fans will hear of Xavier, who was written out of Wednesday’s new season, and even co-showrunner Alfred Gough has ruled out any potential cameo appearance. Gough said to TVLine, “We have seen the last of him,” adding that the character is now “at a boarding school we mentioned in Season 1, Reichenbach, which is like the European version of Nevermore.”

This comes over a year after Hynes White announced his exit from Wednesday following sexual assault allegations, which he denied. You may recall that months after the gothic show’s first season premiered, the actor was accused by a user on X of sexually assaulting underage girls, claiming it occurred at a party Hynes White hosted in Toronto. “He would pursue, have sex with, abuse and get my friend high who was 13/14 at the time,” they said in the since-deleted tweet. “Last time I knew they had sex, she was 16, and he was 20. He assaulted me at one of those parties while I was too drunk, and he had cornered and pressured and assaulted multiple of my friends.”

Percy Hynes White Exits ‘Wednesday’ Ahead of Season 2

Responding to the allegations, Hynes White took to social media to declare them untrue, claiming that he had never met the accuser and stating that he couldn’t “accept the portrayal of me as someone bigoted or criminally negligent of people’s safety.” He also called the accusations “baseless, harmful claims that can create mistrust toward victims,” adding, “It’s very distressing to know that this misinformation has upset people. I’m really thankful for everyone who’s stood by me and helped share the facts. Harassment of my family, friends and coworkers needs to stop, please. Thank you for taking the time to read this.” Fans ultimately campaigned for the Canadian star’s removal from Wednesday, and in May 2024, he confirmed that he wouldn’t make an appearance in Season 2.

Wednesday Season 2, Part 1 is now streaming on Netflix.
