‘Vision Quest’: Orla Brady to Take Over Role of F.R.I.D.A.Y. in Upcoming Marvel Series!!

Today is a great day for Vision Quest fans, who have been treated to a pair of exciting casting announcements for the upcoming MCU series, which is expected to premiere sometime next year. During the same panel at Star Trek Las Vegas that Vision Quest showrunner, Terry Matalas, confirmed that Todd Stashwick is playing Paladin, he also confirmed who will be playing another MCU fan-favorite in the series. Malalas announced that Orla Brady, best known for her role as Laris in Star Trek: Picard, will take on the role of F.R.I.D.A.Y., the AI that Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) used in his suit after Jarvis became the Vision (Paul Bettany). Matalas also riffed on how much of a delight it’s been working with Marvel on the show, calling it a “wonderfully collaborative experience.”

F.R.I.D.A.Y. was previously voiced by Kerry Condon, who recently starred in Skeleton Crew before featuring opposite Brad Pitt in F1. In addition to bringing back Bettany to star as Vision for the first time since 2021’s WandaVision, Avengers: Age of Ultron star James Spader is also back for another run as Ultron. There are even whispers that Spader could appear in live-action as himself in the show, though it remains unclear if that will be due to Ultron taking a human avatar or if it will simply be a holo projection, similar to what the MCU recently did in Ironheart. T’Nia Miller has also been recruited to star as Jacosta in Vision Quest. In Marvel Comics, Jacosta is an AI built by Ultron to be his wife, but she ultimately tires of him and joins the Avengers.

What Else is Coming From Marvel in 2026?

2026 is set to be a big year for Marvel, both on Disney+ and on the big screen. On the small screen, the second seasons of Daredevil: Born Again and X-Men ‘97 are coming sometime next year, along with Marvel’s Vision Quest. Marvel will kick off the year theatrically with Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which recently began production ahead of its July 31, 2026, release. It also stars Mark Ruffalo and Jon Bernthal. Avengers: Doomsday will close out the year for the MCU, now set for release on December 18 after being delayed out of its precious March slot.

Vision Quest does not have an official release date, but it’s expected to premiere on Disney+ next year.
