Get ready to go back to the Delta Quadrant. Soon, you’ll be able to take command of the USS Voyager and relive the seven-season journey of Star Trek: Voyager on your PC or console. Daedalic Entertainment has released the first teaser for Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown, a new video game that will put you in the captain’s chair.
In the new survival strategy game, you take control of the Voyager as it travels through unknown space on its way home. Will you take the diplomacy-first approach of Kathryn Janeway, or will you set the Prime Directive aside and come in with phasers blazing? You can enhance the ship with dangerous alien technologies, form alliances with new races, and even rebuild the ship to your own specifications. But be warned: your actions, whatever they may be, will have consequences. There might be coffee in that nebula, or it might be full of organ-stealing Viidians, predatory Hirogen, or rapacious Species 8472. Not to mention that the Delta Quadrant is the home turf of the fearsome Borg, so you’d better stay alert. Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown does not yet have a release date.
What Is ‘Star Trek: Voyager’ About?
Set in the Star Trek universe’s 24th century, the series follows the USS Voyager, a Starfleet ship that was catapulted across the galaxy by a powerful alien force while pursuing a ship of Maquis rebels. Stranded decades away from Earth, the remaining Voyager crew, including Captain Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew), pilot Tom Paris (Robert Duncan McNeill), junior ensign Harry Kim (Garrett Wang), and the holographic Doctor (Robert Picardo) have to join forces with the Maquis survivors, including renegade Starfleet officer Chakotay (Robert Beltran), half-Klingon engineer B’Elanna Torres (Roxann Dawson), and Starfleet mole Tuvok (Tim Russ), to form one crew as they traverse the distant Delta Quadrant on their way home. Joining forces with aliens Neelix (Ethan Phillips) and Kes (Jennifer Lien), and later the ex-Borg drone Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan), the crew makes new friends and new enemies as they plunge into the unknown.
Voyager made its way back home in its series finale, and several of the show’s characters have turned up in other parts of the franchise. Janeway and Chakotay were important parts of Star Trek: Prodigy, while Seven of Nine joined the cast of Star Trek: Picard. Paris and Kim both turned up on Lower Decks, while the Doctor is set to return, centuries after the events of Voyager, in the upcoming Starfleet Academy. Tuvok, meanwhile, will play a part in the Star Trek: Khan scripted podcast this fall.
Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown is in development, and has not yet set a release date.
