‘A House of Dynamite’: First Images Preview Kathryn Bigelow’s Netflix White House Thriller!! Check It Out!!

Kathryn Bigelow has been absent from movie-making for eight years now after she most recently directed Detroit, but now her next film just got an explosive update. Bigelow will next direct A House of Dynamite, the action thriller starring Idris Elba (Heads of State) and Rebecca Ferguson (Silo) that’s coming to Netflix on October 24. However, in addition to debuting a batch of new images that can be found below, the streamer has also announced that A House of Dynamite will premiere in select theaters in the U.K. on October 3 before also debuting in select theaters in the U.S. on October 10, before its streaming premiere.

A House of Dynamite follows White House staffers who try to solve an impending missile strike. Noah Oppenheim wrote the script for Bigelow’s latest action picture, which also stars Gabriel Basso (The Night Agent), Jared Harris (Foundation), Tracy Letts (Ford v Ferrari), Anthony Ramos (Ironheart), Moses Ingram (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Greta Lee (Tron: Ares), and Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty). Kaitlyn Dever, who recently exploded onto the screen with her brief but commanding performance in The Last of Us Season 2, will also have a role in the film. Bigelow and Oppenheim are also producing A House of Dynamite along with Greg Shapiro.

Bigelow’s most recent movie, Detroit, stars Anthony Mackie and John Boyega. The psychological true-crime thriller is currently streaming on Lionsgate’s streaming service, MovieSphere. Bigelow’s most famous work came five years before Detroit on Zero Dark Thirty, the gripping political thriller that won an Oscar for Best Sound Editing and also took home nominations in four more categories. A House of Dynamite star, Jason Clarke, can be seen in the film, along with Chris Pratt, Jessica Chastain, and Joel Edgerton. It’s not currently on any streaming service.
