‘Go-Love-Go’: ‘Call Me Kat’ Stars to Reunite for New Rom Com!!

Mayim Bialik‘s next comedy role after the end of The Big Bang Theory was in a short-lived Fox sitcom, Call Me Kat. The show also starred Cheyenne Jackson and John Griffin, and now a new report reveals that the trio is back together for a new romcom unrelated to the show. In Go-Love-Go, Griffin stars, writes, and produces, with Bialik and Jackson set for various roles. The film centers on John, a recently out 41-year-old struggling with writer’s block. John wins a trip for two to Costa Rica, and his best friend introduces him to West Hollywood with the hopes of finding him a travel buddy and maybe a nice idea for a script. However, things take a turn when Tiago, a brilliant engineering student, finds his way into John’s heart. The older man finds himself fascinated by Tiago‘s story as a recent immigrant who moonlights as a go-go boy to pay for community college. Colin McCalla (Tyler Perry’s Ruthless), Katie Lowes (The Hunting Wives), Brandon Scott (Dead to Me), and Cameron Cowperthwaite (Tires) also star.

Call Me Kat ran for three seasons on Fox before being cancelled because of declining ratings and negative reviews. Bialik starred as Kat, a 39-year-old woman who quits her high-end job as a professor and chases her dream of running a cat cafe. Season 1 was met with negative reviews by critics and is currently rated 25% on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. However, the viewership was high enough, and Call Me Kat earned itself two more seasons that critics did not review. Ratings went on a steady decline over the three seasons leading to the cancellation. The show also starred the late Leslie Jordan, Kyla Pratt, Swoosie Kurtz, Julian Gant, and Christopher Rivas.

What Has the Cast of ‘Call Me Kat’ Been Up To?

Bialik has had several television and film roles since Call Me Kat ended. She appeared on several episodes of The Big Bang Theory prequel, Young Sheldon, with costar Jim Parsons. She also reunited with Big Bang costar Melissa Rauch on an episode of Night Court. After playing Kat’s judgmental mom, Kurtz went on to voice Marilyn Thacker on American Dad! Jackson has been focused on podcasting roles, apart from an appearance on Doctor Odyssey. Pratt reprised her Penny role on the Proud Family reboot. Gant was seen in Shepherd and Baselines, while Jordan passed away while Call Me Kat was in production.
