Reacher star Alan Ritchson is branching out from his hit Prime Video series with the first footage from his upcoming action movie, Motor City. Ritchson will star in the upcoming action feature alongside Shailene Woodley (Paradise), Ben Foster (3:10 to Yuma), and Pablo Schreiber (Den of Thieves), which is due to make its world premiere tomorrow at the Venice Film Festival before it heads to TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) later this year. With a budget of $30 million, Motor City is still seeking a distributor to take the film either to theaters or onto streaming.
Motor City is set in the 1970s in Detroit, and it follows a man who plots revenge against the criminals who set him up for a crime he didn’t commit. This leads to him losing the love of his life (Woodley) and going on a war path to strike down anyone who had a hand in her death. The most interesting thing about Motor City is its lack of dialogue — there are reportedly only five spoken lines in the entire film. Ritchson may not have a chance to flex his verbal acting prowess, but you can believe his muscles will be on full display.
Fleetwood Mac, Bill Withers, and Donna Summer all feature on the soundtrack for Motor City, so while fans may miss the dialogue, there will be plenty of great music to fill their ears. The film has reportedly been in the works for more than 10 years at Warner Bros., with various stars and directors all attached at different points. It settled on Ritchson as its star, which should prove to be a good call, considering his blossoming popularity. Potsy Ponciroli (Old Henry) is directing Motor City with a script from Chad St. John.

Production recently kicked off on Reacher Season 4, and Ritchson has not been shy about sharing set photos and videos of filming from his personal Instagram. Ritchson’s social media is the perfect place for fans to engage with him and also see what he’s up to — the behemoth star certainly isn’t shy with his posts. Prime Video has yet to announce when Reacher Season 4 will premiere, but its most likely window for release lies sometime in 2026.
