Colleen Hoover fans, brace yourselves, as the wait for her next novel-to-movie adaptation has just got longer. The fan-favorite author is the mind behind last year’s Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni team-up It Ends With Us, which was a box office success despite behind-the-scenes drama. Now, per a news report, her next feature, Reminders of Him, has been delayed.
Starring Maika Monroe, Reminders of Him has been pushed back to March 13, from its previously scheduled date of February 5, 2026. The movie previously aimed to capture Valentine’s week’s footfall but now seems to distance itself from the window to minimize competition like Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights, starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, which recently released a tantalizing teaser, which is set for February 13, 2026, release. Nonetheless, whenever the movie arrives in the theaters, Hoover’s fans will be seated.
What Is ‘Reminders of Him’ About?
Directed by Vanessa Caswill from a screenplay written by Hoover and Lauren Levine, Reminders of Him is billed as a story of “motherhood, forgiveness, and the power of love to heal.” The story follows a troubled young mother, Keena Rowan (Monroe), who yearns for an opportunity at redemption in her life after a tragic mistake. Released after a stint in prison, Keena must reintegrate into a town and community that have yet to forgive her. After five years behind bars, Keena wants to reconnect with her young daughter, but those around her seek to prevent that reunion. All alone, Keena finds a ray of light in a dark tunnel in the company of local bar owner, Ledger Ward, who is the only one who hasn’t shunned her.
The movie will address substantial themes of love, loss, motherhood, forgiveness, and the bond of friendship, just like the book. It’ll also shine a light on redemption and the importance of second chances as Keena tries to get back on her feet. The movie has an impeccable cast, including Monroe as Kenna Rowan; given that the actor has established her name in the horror genre, it’ll be interesting to see her as Hoover’s leading lady. Supporting her in the ensemble are Tyriq Withers as Ledger Ward, Rudy Pankow as Scotty Landry, Lauren Graham as Grace Landry, Bradley Whitford as Patrick Landry, Lainey Wilson as Amy, and Nicholas Duvernay as Roman.
Reminders of Him will now debut on March 13, 2026.
