Disney+ has dropped the first trailer for Star Wars: Visions Volume 3, and it’s a feast for fans who want their galaxy far, far away to continue to be shaken up by bold new voices. The award-winning anthology returns this fall with nine anime shorts that reimagine Jedi, Sith, smugglers, and bounty hunters through fresh cultural and visual perspectives. The series has already proven itself as one of the most critically acclaimed Star Wars projects of the Disney era, with an Emmy win, Annie Awards, and even a Lumière win under its belt. Now, Volume 3 promises to push things even further, not only by returning exclusively to Japanese anime studios, but also by recruiting one of the most star-studded casts yet.
Among those joining the saga are Anna Sawai (Shōgun), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Steve Buscemi (Reservoir Dogs), George Takei (Star Trek), Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows), Judith Light (Poker Face), Freddie Highmore (The Good Doctor), and Jodie Turner-Smith (The Acolyte).
