Netflix revealed that production on Monster Season 4 is now underway. The announcement included the full cast for Season 4, headlined by Ella Beatty.

Who is involved in Monster Season 4?

In Monster Season 4, Beatty will play Lizzie Borden, a woman accused of murdering her father and stepmother in 1892 in Massachusetts. Borden was tried and acquitted for the murders, but the mystery surrounding the case garnered massive attention.

Charlie Hunnam will play Andrew Borden, Lizzie’s father. Hunnam previously starred in Monster Season 3 as Ed Gein, the notorious serial killer and body snatcher.

Monster Season 4’s ensemble includes Vicky Krieps as Bridget Sullivan, the Bordens’ live-in maid; Rebecca Hall as Abby Borden, Lizzie’s stepmother; Billie Lourd as Emma, Lizzie’s older sister; and Jessica Barden as Nance O’Neill, Lizzie’s actress friend.

Monster Season 4 is currently filming in Los Angeles. Max Winkler, who directed multiple episodes in Monster Season 3, will helm the first episode in the Borden-centered season.

Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan are the creators of the Monster anthology series. The first installment, Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, starred Evan Peters as Jeffrey Dahmer, the serial killer who killed and dismembered his victims. Peters won a Golden Globe and garnered an Emmy nomination for his performance. Dahmer is Netflix’s No. 4 most popular English-language TV show ever.

The second installment, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, depicted Lyle and Erik Menendez, the wealthy brothers who killed their parents in 1989. While many thought Lyle (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Erik (Cooper Koch) murdered to inherit their family’s fortune, the duo claimed it was self-defense from years of abuse.

The third installment, Monster: The Ed Gein Story, premiered on October 3, 2025. The show debuted at No. 2 in Netflix’s Top 10, with 12.2 million views globally in its first three days.
