‘Marines’ Trailer Previews the Netflix Docu Series!! Check It Out!!

The timing of this development raises eyebrows. Netflix has debuted a trailer for a new Marines series hours after the Pentagon criticized the new hit dramedy Boots. The new show couldn’t be more different from the Miles Heizer-led one that premiered last week to rave reviews. Titled Marines, the documentary series dives into the life of one of the world’s most highly trained forces. The trailer below previews the life of a Marine, from the rigorous training to the brotherhood and the sacrifices they make. It is produced by Amblin Entertainment, the company behind the hit WWII drama Band of Brothers, in association with Lucky8. All four episodes will premiere on Netflix on November 10. The official synopsis for the series, directed by Chelsea Yarnell, reads:

Marines is a coming-of-age docuseries following the members of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), the U.S. military’s “force in readiness” in the Pacific. With unparalleled access to the U.S. Marine Corps, the series offers an inside look into the rigorous trainings and emotional moments of young Marines as they forge bonds while grappling with the complexities of life at sea.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon took a jab at the company with a statement following the release and success of Boots, a scripted series following a young gay recruit who joins the Marines in the 1990s. “Under President Trump and Secretary [Pete] Hegseth, the U.S. military is getting back to restoring the warrior ethos. Our standards across the board are elite, uniform, and sex neutral because the weight of a rucksack or a human being doesn’t care if you’re a man, a woman, gay, or straight,” reads the statement released by the Pentagon‘s press secretary, Kingsley Wilson. It continues, taking a jab at Netflix, saying:

“[We] will not compromise our standards to satisfy an ideological agenda, unlike Netflix, whose leadership consistently produces and feeds woke garbage to their audience and children.”

‘Boots’ Is the Top Show Worldwide

Like Marines, Boots is a coming-of-age story about one teenager’s journey. The show, based on Greg Cope White‘s memoir The Pink Marine, is currently the most-watched show on Netflix. It boasts a fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes at 93%. The eight-episode series hails from creator and co-showrunner Andy Parker, with Heizer in the lead role alongside Max Parker, Liam Oh, Dominic Goodman, Angus O’Brien, Kieron Moore, and Vera Farmiga, among others. Marines hits Netflix on November 10. In the meantime, catch up on Cameron‘s exploits by streaming all episodes of Boots Season 1.
