‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ Season 2: First Teaser Teases the Appearance of King Kong!! Check It Out!!

Long live the King. Legendary‘s Monsterverse franchise rampages on, as Monarch: Legacy of Monsters returns for its second season; while Godzilla took center stage in season one, this time the Eighth Wonder of the World himself, King Kong, is here to steal the show in a new teaser. Season two will premiere exclusively on Apple TV on February 27, 2026.

What Happened on Season 1 of ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’?

The series kicks off with Monarch scientist Bill Randa (John Goodman) losing a cache of Monarch documents during the events of Kong: Skull Island in 1973; from there, the series shifts to 2015, in the wake of Godzilla and the MUTOs’ rampage through San Francisco in Godzilla. Teacher Cate Randa (Anna Sawai) goes on a hunt for her missing father, only to discover that he had a secret family in Tokyo, including her half-brother Kentaro (Ren Watabe). Together, the two of them find the missing Monarch documents, and, together with Kentaro’s friend May (Kiersey Clemons), start piecing together her family’s hidden history. That history is deeply intertwined with the origins of Monarch itself, as the series explores the monster-hunting exploits of a younger Bill (Anders Holm), scientist Keiko (Mari Yamamoto), and military advisor Lee Shaw (Wyatt Russell). Meanwhile, in the present, Cate and company find an aged Shaw (Wyatt’s real-life dad, Kurt, playing his older self), who might just be the key to everything.

The second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will also feature a new addition to the cast — one who’s no stranger to monsters herself. Prey‘s Amber Midthunder will be joining the cast as Isabel, a savvy businesswoman.

The second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will premiere exclusively on Apple TV on February 27, 2026.
