‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ to Re-Release in Fully Immersive ‘Shared Reality’ Next Year!!

Get ready to step back into the Wizarding World — literally. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is coming back to theaters, but not in the traditional way fans might expect. Instead of a standard rerelease, Warner Bros. and Cosm are teaming up to transform the beloved 2001 classic into a full-fledged shared reality experience. Think theaters… if theaters were 87-foot LED domes that swallow you whole.

Cosm announced that its immersive venues in Los Angeles and Dallas will host the debut, with expansions to Detroit and Atlanta set for next year. Unlike a simple remaster or anniversary screening, this version of Sorcerer’s Stone is being rebuilt specifically for Cosm’s full-dome filmmaking technology — the same platform that turned The Matrix and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory into high-tech cinematic spectacles. Warner Bros. president of global distribution Jeff Goldstein explained why the studio keeps returning to the format:

“Following the enthusiasm for The Matrix and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory in shared reality, we are thrilled to continue our partnership with Cosm, Little Cinema and MakeMake with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. This collaboration continues to redefine what the cinematic experience can be, offering audiences a truly unique way to celebrate these timeless films from the vast Warner Bros. library.”

Cosm’s president and CEO Jeb Terry added that the event will celebrate both the film and its longtime fandom:

“‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ at Cosm will be a magical experience, celebrating the film and the fandom that makes the wizarding world so special, with key elements like Butterbeer and Chocolate Frogs to delight guests along the way.”

Yes — the snacks are part of the experience too. The original film launched in 2001 and kicked off an eight-movie global phenomenon. Now, over two decades later, the story is about to take on new life again as the source material for HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series, currently expected in 2027.

Who Stars in ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’?

The main cast of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is led by Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, and Emma Watson as Hermione Granger — the trio at the heart of the entire franchise. They’re joined by Richard Harris as Albus Dumbledore, Maggie Smith as Professor McGonagall, Alan Rickman as Professor Snape, and Robbie Coltrane as Hagrid.

Tickets for the shared reality presentations in Los Angeles and Dallas will go on sale in early 2026, with additional cities to follow as Cosm expands.
