‘One Last Shot’: Scott Adkins Confirms His Sleeper Hit Action Franchise is Ending!!

John Wick: Chapter 4‘s star Scott Adkins is returning for the third entry in the One Shot franchise, which is widely being billed as the final chapter in his acclaimed action franchise. The upcoming film, titled One Last Shot, is now filming with the actor reprising his role as Navy SEAL Jake Harris. The film is being directed by James Nunn and is set to continue the franchise’s signature one-take style.

Adkins shared the news on his Patreon account (via MovieWeb) and shared behind-the-scenes footage of his bloodied and bruised character on set. “It’s great to be facing off with Kane again,” added the action star while praising Kane Kosugi’s portrayal of the main antagonist in One Last Shot as the two performers smiled for the camera. This means that the final film will reunite Adkins with Kosugi, his co-star from Ninja 2: Shadow of a Tear, and likely feature a brutal martial arts showdown between the two actors.

The 2021 original, One Shot, followed Harris as he led an extraction mission at a CIA black site under siege. The 2024 sequel showed his character trapped in an airport with terrorists as he tried to prevent a major attack. Plot details for the upcoming installment are under wraps, but the film is expected to pick up where One More Shot left off to deliver an action-packed finale. One Last Shot is slated for a 2026 release, but an exact date has not been announced yet.

Scott Adkins Opens Up About ‘Prisoner of War’ Action Sequences

Adkins has experienced his fair share of success this year, especially with his impressive performances in Prisoner of War and Diablo. The action star recently spoke with The AU Review and talked about the stripped-down realism of Prisoner of War, which reunited him with Australian filmmaker Louis Mandylor. According to Adkins, the credit for the film’s grounded tone goes to Mandylor, with whom he previously worked on The Debt Collector franchise. “Louis is great at stripping away all the cheese and the things that feel false,” the actor said.

He added that Louis’s commitment to authenticity dictated the entire production and noted that some scripted moments were actually adjusted on set to align with the film’s gritty tone because the action needed to feel earned rather than flashy. “You can’t just start doing a load of kung-fu and Hong Kong-style kicks,” he joked. Adkins also revealed that the World War II drama was influenced by classics like The Deer Hunter and focused on the “struggle of the human spirit.”

Adkins, who came up with the film’s story, confessed that the Prisoner of War had been kicking around in his head for ages. The actor wanted to explore the resilience of soldiers in captivity, but on a more personal level. Plus, he was aware of the budgetary constraints his team would have to deal with, so he made sure to create something impactful yet still achievable.

One Shot and One More Shot are available to stream on Netflix. One Last Shot is slated for release in 2026, but the exact date has not been announced yet.
