Today is a great day for fans of The Night Agent, the hit spy thriller series on Netflix starring Gabriel Basso (A House of Dynamite). The streaming giant has officially released the first teaser trailer for The Night Agent Season 3, and also announced that the highly anticipated third season will premiere on February 19. It was previously thought that the show would launch its third season on January 26, but it has been delayed a month to give the team extra time to polish things. A full trailer for The Night Agent Season 3 is expected to be released sometime next month, closer to the official launch.

The Night Agent Season 3 picks up shortly after the events of Season 2, when Night Agent Peter Sutherland is called in to track down a young Treasury Agent who fled to Istanbul with sensitive information after killing his boss. This leads to a sequence of events where Peter investigates a dark trail of money while also avoiding skilled assassins, and he even collides with a relentless journalist along the way. Things come to a head when the duo uncovers buried secrets and old grudges that could topple an entire government — and get them both killed.

Shawn Ryan, famed for his work on The Shield and S.W.A.T. is back once again to showrun The Night Agent Season 3, and he’s also writing and executive producing the show. Series regulars alongside Basso in Season 3 include Louis Herthum, Stephen Moyer, Callum Vinson, David Lyons, Fola Evans-Akingbola, Jennifer Morrison, Albert Jones, Ward Horton, and Genesis Rodriguez. Guy Ferland, Adam Arkin, Paris Barclay, Hiromi Kamata, and Billy Gierhart are directing episodes of Season 3.

Is The Night Agent Like Prime Video’s Reacher?

Fans have been comparing The Night Agent to Reacher, the hit Prime Video action series starring Alan Ritchson, for years now, and the similarities are hard to deny. Ritchson is certainly more dominating in stature than Basso, but both shows are rooted in government conspiracy, and they feature complex action heroes going to extraordinary lengths to do what’s right. While there are definitely differences to call out, any fans of The Night Agent will likely enjoy Reacher, and vice versa. There are also several seasons of each show to enjoy, with more of both on the way.
