‘I Want Your Sex’: First Image Teases the Age-Gap Erotic Thriller Starring Olivia Wilde & Cooper Hoffman!! Check It Out!!

Sundance is only a few months away, and that means we’re getting a first look at the festival’s upcoming slate. For the last Salt Lake City-based celebration, fans can see some of the biggest stars in their upcoming indie film projects. One such film is I Want Your Sex from director Gregg Araki. Araki, who fans know from shows like 13 Reasons Why, is directing Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman in the erotic thriller written by Karley Sciortino.

While we don’t know much about the Araki film, we do have a glimpse of I Want Your Sex with a first look image as well as a description of the upcoming movie. I Want Your Sex is described as follows:

“When fresh-faced Elliot lands a job with artist and provocateur Erika Tracy, his fantasies come true as she taps him to become her sexual muse. But Elliot finds himself out of his depth as Erika takes him on a journey into a world of sex, obsession, power, betrayal, and murder.”

The image for I Want Your Sex shows Erika (Wilde) and Elliot (Hoffman) looking at each other. Wilde is wearing a leather dress with a punk-rock haircut cut and Hoffman has an earring. Wilde and Hoffman starring opposite each other is going to be a great thing for fans of the two actors, but it is also exciting to see just how stacked the rest of the cast is as well. The rest of the supporting cast includes Johnny Knoxville, Mason Gooding, Daveed Diggs, Chase Sui Wonders, and pop singer and Brat Summer’s own, Charli XCX.

The Erotic Thriller Is Back, Baby

Erotic thrillers as a genre have sadly become few and far between in the modern age. In the 1980s and the 1990s, the genre was absolutely thriving with movies like Basic Instinct, Fatal Attraction, Bound, and Eyes Wide Shut, but in the decades since, the concept of an erotic thriller has fallen out of style. We recently had movies such as Fair Play or A Simple Favor tease a return to form, and now, with I Want Sex, we could maybe see further return to the concept. While little else is currently known about the plot of the film, that only adds to the intrigue, as the best erotic thrillers keep us guessing and on the edge of our seats.

You can see I Want Sex at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival in 2026.
