The White Lotus is getting its guest list for Season 4 in order before the new year, and it just booked a big name. Helena Bonham Carter is in early talks to check into HBO‘s smash-hit vacation anthology series, according to a new report. If finalized, she would be the first cast member locked up for Mike White‘s next outing after casting got underway last month. It’s believed that production could get underway in the spring, with the series bringing its decadent drama to a lush new location in France.
As is always the case, White is keeping his cards close to the vest at this time for what the season could entail, though the previous seasons give an idea of what to expect. The White Lotus has built a reputation for showing off betrayal, bad behavior, and murder mysteries against stunning backdrops. Filled to the brim with rich patrons with skeletons in their closets and relationship drama blooming, and overworked staff members having to deal with their privilege, it’s a powder keg for chaos made to keep viewers hanging on every twist and turn. So far, the show has won 16 Emmys for its efforts, too, with the latest, Season 3, racking up a staggering 23 nominations earlier this year.
It’s also, of course, affirmed itself as a go-to destination for high-profile stars, both up-and-coming and established. Season 3 in Thailand featured an eye-watering ensemble, headlined by the likes of Walton Goggins, Michelle Monaghan, Carrie Coon, Sam Rockwell, Natasha Rothwell, Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Aimee Lou Wood, Sam Nivola, and Patrick Schwarzenegger. That cast earned eight of those 23 nominations and helped The White Lotus claim the top spot on IMDb‘s list of most popular television series of 2025. As for the hotel that the next round of guests could be staying in, nothing has been confirmed. Previous seasons have been housed in Four Seasons locations, though a marketing deal between HBO and the chain has not been reached for Season 4 yet.
What Else Has Helena Bonham Carter Been in of Late?
Carter would add more Oscar-worthy prestige to The White Lotus, previously garnering two nominations from the Academy for The Wings of the Dove and The King’s Speech, and earning recognition for her collaborations with Tim Burton. After Isaacs‘ riveting turn in Season 3, she’d be the latest Harry Potter alum to check into one of the titular hotels, too. The series would be one of her next big television spots after earning a pair of Emmy nominations for The Crown at Netflix. Though her schedule was largely cleared in 2025, she was most recently seen in the heartfelt Four Letters of Love, opposite Pierce Brosnan and Gabriel Byrne, and is also gearing up for another notable small-screen role in Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials, set to premiere in January.
