It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…which is good news for Stranger Things fans, because it means their wait for the next part of the show’s fifth and final season is almost over. Our heroes are striking back against Vecna in an action-packed teaser for the next block of new episodes. The next three episodes of the fifth season will premiere on Netflix on December 25.

What’s Happened So Far on Season 5 of ‘Stranger Things’?

Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), the mastermind behind the madness of the Upside Down, is on the loose, but Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and company have sworn to put an end to him…which may be complicated by the shocking revelation that Will (Noah Schnapp) has picked up some freaky powers from his own sojourn in Vecna’s nightmare world. Hawkins, Indiana is under military lock and key, with mad scientist Dr. Kay (Linda Hamilton) in charge. Steve (Joe Keery), Robin (Maya Hawke), Nancy (Natalia Dyer), and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) are coordinating resistance efforts from the local radio station, while Jim Hopper (David Harbour) and Eleven have invaded the Upside Down. Meanwhile, Nancy and Will’s little sister Holly (Nell Fisher) has fallen into Vecna’s clutches, but she’s found an ally in the still-comatose Max (Sadie Sink). It’s up to our heroes to seal up the gate to the Upside Down once and for all, or nobody’s going to make it to see the ’90s.

This season of Stranger Things isn’t just a swan song for the series, but for creators Matt and Ross Duffer; after making a fortune for Netflix with Stranger Things, they’re leaving for a new mega-deal at Paramount. However, they’ll still be at the helm for the multiple Stranger Things spin-offs in the works.

The next three episodes of Stranger Things‘ fifth season will premiere on Netflix on December 25; the grand finale will debut on New Year’s Eve.
