New York is getting ready for war, and Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) is going to need some help. It’s a good thing he knows one hell of a detective with Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), who is finally making her MCU return in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Now, we finally have our first look at what’s in store for the beloved MCU show, thanks to Entertainment Weekly, including a debut image of Matt and Jessica’s long-awaited reunion.

That’s not the only reunion we get to see in the new images, either. While the image with Jessica has Matt decked out in his new Daredevil suit, we also get to see him go undercover with his longtime partner in stopping crime, Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), whose new red wig goes well with her expanded Season 2 role. Also grouped with the new images are more of Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) and his complicated wife, Vanessa (Ayelet Zurer). They meet two new characters in Season 2, as shown in the images below. One of them is The Conjuring star Lili Taylor‘s Marge McCaffrey, the current governor of the MCU’s New York, and the other features Fisk’s new rival, Mr. Charles, played by Scream icon Matthew Lillard.

With Daredevil: Born Again being planned as an annual release series for Marvel Television, Season 2 of the MCU revival will pick up right where Season 1 left off. Just when it looked like Wilson Fisk might have been turning over a new leaf as mayor by leaving his Kingpin persona behind, he assembled the most corrupt individuals in New York to declare war on costumed vigilantes like Daredevil, The Punisher (Jon Bernthal), and even Spider-Man (Tom Holland). Any war worth fighting needs an army, and with Karen back by his side, Matt begins assembling a team of remarkable people to save New York City.

Will ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Return for Season 3?

Those worried about a repeat of Netflix‘s cancellation of the original Daredevil show need not worry. Born Again has already gotten a greenlight for a third season with potential for even more, meaning we will definitely see The Man Without Fear after his reunion with Jessica Jones. Speaking of, Jessica’s return opens the door to a potential return for Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and/or Iron Fist (Finn Jones),marking an official Defenders reunion. More seasons mean more potential for those characters and others to team up with Daredevil, so we’ll have to see what Marvel has in store.
