Prime Video has officially released the first batch of images fromCrossSeason 2, which will premiere its first three episodes on February 11. The show was one of the biggest hits for Prime Video at the end of 2024, and fans have been anxiously awaiting its arrival all year. The series stars Aldis Hodge as the famous Detective Alex Cross, and joining the action in Season 2 is Scream veteran Matthew Lillard. Lillard can even be seen in several of the first-look images from Season 2, all of which can be found below.
Ahead of Season 2, Prime Video has released an official updated synopsis for the detective series, including details about where the second season is heading:
“Cross is a complex, twisted, pulse-pounding thriller created by executive producer, showrunner, and writer Ben Watkins, based upon the characters from James Patterson’s best-selling Alex Cross book series. The Washington, D.C. crime drama follows Alex Cross (Aldis Hodge), a brilliant homicide detective and forensic psychologist, uniquely capable of digging into the minds of murderers in order to identify and catch them. In Season Two, Cross is in pursuit of a ruthless vigilante who is hunting down corrupt billionaire magnates.”
Cross star Aldis Hodge is best known for playing Hawkman in Black Adam, the 2022 superhero film starring Dwayne Johnson. Hodge’s Hawkman was one of the best parts of the film, but after changes in leadership at DC, he has not been brought back to star in another project in the years since. He’s also famous for playing Jim Brown in One Night in Miami, and he even featured in Hidden Figures in 2016. He voices the Green Lantern John Stewart in the DC animated movies.
‘Cross’ Aldis Hodge Is Joining Another Big Prime Video Project
Another big project to come out of 2024 for Prime Video was Road House, the Jake Gyllenhaal-led remake of the Patrick Swayze action movie. The film wasn’t particularly well-liked upon its release, but it did well enough to warrant the greenlighting of a sequel, which is expected to begin production early next year. Cross’s own Aldis Hodge has also joined the cast of Season 2, along with Dave Bautista. Doug Liman is not returning to directing, and he’s instead been replaced by Ilya Naishuller (Nobody).
