Netflix has decided the fate of Emily in Paris less than a month removed from the Season 5 finale. The streaming goliath has confirmed that Emily in Paris has been renewed for Season 6 after Season 5 amassed over 26 million views during its first 11 days on the platform. Emily in Paris has quietly become one of Netflix’s flagship properties over the last five to six years, and while many fans were concerned that Emily Cooper’s (Lily Collins) story would be over at the end of Season 5, it turns out there is more in store for everyone’s favorite American in Paris.
Emily in Paris Season 5 also reached the top 10 in more than 90 countries around the world, continuing the series’ trend of being a massive success immediately after its Netflix debut. The show was written and created for television by Darren Star, who was even awarded the Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur (Knight of the Legion of Honour), which is France’s highest civilian honor. He even shared a statement on receiving this award alongside Emily in Paris’ Season 6 renewal:
“Being awarded the Legion d’Honneur by President Macron is both humbling and deeply emotional. France has become an essential part of my creative journey, and I’m grateful for the warmth, curiosity, and generosity with which it has embraced my work. It’s an honor I will carry with immense pride.”
Below reads the official synopsis for Emily in Paris Season 5, which also stars Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Lucas Bravo, Ashley Park, Bruno Gouery, and more: “Now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city. But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks. Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships. Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity, and a readiness to embrace new possibilities.”
When Will ‘Emily in Paris’ Season 6 Come Out?
Netflix did not announce an official release date or window for Emily in Paris Season 6. But, considering the show has released five seasons in as many years, it wouldn’t be surprising if Season 6 arrived sooner rather than later. Emily in Paris star Lilly Collins also recently featured opposite Mia Goth in MaXXXine, the horror film that’s currently streaming on HBO Max.
