Anne Hathaway is returning to TV. She’s set to star in and executive produce Fear Not, a new serial killer drama at Paramount+. The series will center around real-life serial killer Stephen Morin and his last would-be victim, a woman who believed she could find a man inside the monster. It will be Hathaway’s second major foray into television after starring in the Apple TV miniseries WeCrashed with Jared Leto, a dramatization of the scandals that brought down the coworking company WeWork.
Morin was a killer who roamed the southwestern United States in the 1970s and 1980s; he is believed to have abducted and killed almost fifty people, more than the more famous Ted Bundy. His last victim was Margy Palm (Hathaway), who survived the encounter and found herself bonded to Morin, whose intense evil never shook her unwavering faith. The two remained connected long after he was arrested, tried, and convicted for his heinous crimes…all the way until he faced the executioner’s needle. Fear Not was created by Bash Doran (Boardwalk Empire, Outlaw King), who will also write the series. Says Paramount‘s Jane Wiseman, “By grounding this chilling true story in the lived experience of our protagonist, Anne is bringing a level of nuance and gravity to the screen that only a performer of her caliber can.”
What Can Anne Hathaway Be Seen in Next?
The ever-hustling Hathaway is slated to star in five movies in 2026. First up, in April, is David Lowery‘s thriller Mother Mary; she’ll star as a pop diva who ends up in a twisted battle of wills with a fashion designer (Michaela Cole). Coming in May is The Devil Wears Prada 2, a sequel to one of Hathaway‘s most iconic hits; she’ll reprise her role as Andy Sachs, one-time assistant to fearsome fashionista Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). July brings Christopher Nolan‘s mythological epic The Odyssey; Hathaway will star as Penelope, the ever-faithful wife of the long-lost Odysseus (Matt Damon). The next month, she’ll star in the science fiction thriller Flowervale Street with Ewan McGregor. Finally, she’ll finish out the year in October when she stars in the hotly anticipated Colleen Hoover adaptation Verity with Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett.
Fear Not is adapted from the Vanity Fair article entitled “Sympathy for the Devil” written by Julie MIller. It is executive produced by Steve Stark and Stacey Levin for Toluca Pictures; Helen Estabrook for Vanity Fair Studios; Hathaway, Adam Shulman, and Johnathan Rice for Somewhere Pictures; and Palm, her husband Bart, and their daughter Noelle.
