A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, created by George R.R. Martin and Ira Parker, continues to build momentum as HBO Max’s second Game of Thrones prequel series. The show debuted its first episode on January 18 and immediately drew praise for its grounded storytelling and intimate tone. Unlike earlier Westeros epics driven by massive wars and political power struggles, this series narrows its focus to character, honor, and consequence. With five episodes still remaining, HBO Max has now released the A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Episode 2-6 trailer. Thus, offering fans a deeper look at what lies ahead.
What happens in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Episode 2-6 trailer
HBO Max, alongside the official Game of Thrones YouTube channel, unveiled the new A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Trailer, which covers Episodes 2 through 6. It reinforces the show’s quieter but emotionally charged direction, centering on the unlikely partnership between Ser Duncan the Tall and his young squire, Egg.
The trailer opens with Dunk’s brief flashbacks, which glimpse his childhood hardships, which contrast sharply with his present-day determination to carve out an honorable future.
As the trailer progresses, Dunk and Egg arrive near Ashford, where a major tournament becomes central to the plot. Dunk seeks entry by appealing to various lords, hoping the competition will secure him status and stability. Egg, however, urges him not to compromise his pride, reinforcing the moral backbone of their bond. When House Targaryen arrives at Ashford, Dunk seizes a dangerous opportunity to stand out, crossing paths with Prince Baelor.
The trailer also hints at escalating tension with Prince Aerion, whose cruelty and arrogance immediately put him at odds with Dunk. One pivotal moment shows Dunk intervening to protect a woman from abuse by Prince Aerion. That single act of decency sets off severe consequences.
The conflict culminates in a trial by combat, teased through intense visuals of battle armor, brutal weapons, and roaring crowds. Later in the trailer, injured and knocked to the ground, Dunk hears Egg’s voice urging him to get up again. The final glimpse shows Dunk standing again, battered but unbroken, ready to fight.
