‘Sinners’ Sets History with Oscars 2026 Nominations!! Check Out the Full List!!

It’s time to rub those bleary eyes, because the announcements for the 98th Academy Awards have just been made in Los Angeles, California. Danielle Brooks and Lewis Pullman were the lucky ones — or drew the short straw, depending on how much sleep they got — to reveal the names, and there were a lot of expected names, along with one or two eyebrow-raisers, and the most nominated movie of all time in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, with 16 nods.

The headlines? Well, the big ticket categories were full of some names you’d expect. Best Picture nominees are: Bugonia, F1, Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value, Sinners, and Train Dreams.

For Best Actor, those fêted include Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme), Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), Michael B. Jordan (Sinners) and Wagner Moura (The Secret Agent), while for Best Actress, the nominees are Jessie Buckley (Hamnet), Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs, I’d Kick You), Kate Hudson (Song Sung Blue), Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value) and Emma Stone (Bugonia).

Best Director nominees are Chloê Zhao (Hamnet), Josh Safdie (Marty Supreme), Paul Thomas Anderson (One Battle After Another), Joachim Trier (Sentimental Value) and Ryan Coogler (Sinners).

For Best Supporting Actress, it was Elle Fanning, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas (both for Sentimental Value), Amy Madigan (Weapons), Wunmi Mosaku (Sinners) and Teyana Taylor (One Battle After Another). For Best Supporting Actor, we had Benicio Del Toro (One Battle After Another), Jacob Elordi (Frankenstein), Delroy Lindo (Sinners), Sean Penn (One Battle After Another) and Stellan Skarsgård (Sentimental Value).

A new category was included too — Best Casting. The best ensembles included were Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, The Secret Agent and Sinners. Adapted Screenplay included Bugonia, Frankenstein, One Battle After Another, Hamnet and Train Dreams, with Original Screenplay featuring Blue Moon, It Was Just an Accident, Marty Supreme, Sentimental Value and Sinners.

Comedian Conan O’Brien is set to return as host of the Oscars for the second consecutive year, and the show will honor achievements in film from 2025 across 24 competitive categories. The 98th Academy Awards are scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. In the United States, the ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC and is also expected to stream on Hulu. The full list of nominees can be found below.
