‘The Studio’ Season 2 Has Finally Begun Filming!!

The second season of Seth Rogen‘s hit satirical comedy The Studio is now filming, and it’s going to push the envelope even further. Series star Chase Sui Wonders revealed that the much-anticipated season is in production and the show’s creators, Rogen and Evan Goldberg, “are definitely pushing the needle” with the jokes. She added this about the upcoming season of the Apple TV comedy while promoting her new Greg Araki film at Sundance:

“It’s definitely a level up. We’ve already started filming, and I think everyone is laughing harder and louder than they did last season, even in our first week. I can’t say much, but there are some familiar faces that you’ll be very excited to see making fun of themselves.”

The Studio satirizes Hollywood studio culture. Rogen stars as Matt Remick, a newly appointed studio head for Continental Studios. “As movies struggle to stay alive and relevant, Matt and his core team of infighting executives battle their insecurities as they wrangle narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords in the ever-elusive pursuit of making great films. With their power suits masking their never-ending sense of panic, every party, set visit, casting decision, marketing meeting, and award show presents them with an opportunity for glittering success or career-ending catastrophe. As someone who eats, sleeps, and breathes movies, it’s the job Matt’s been pursuing his whole life, and it may very well destroy him,” reads the show’s official logline. The Studio was a hit on Apple TV and a critic favorite, winning two awards at the 83rd Annual Golden Globe Awards, in addition to its 13 Emmys.

What’s Next for ‘The Studio’ Star Chase Sui Wonders?

In addition to The Studio Season 2, the City on Fire star has a role in Araki‘s upcoming sex-positive film, I Want Your Sex. Araki reunites with his Now Apocalypse co-writer Karley Sciortino as the latter pens I Want Your Sex. Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman star alongside Waters Mason Gooding, Johny Knoxville, Daveed Diggs, and Charli XCX. Araki is known for creating scandalous movies and TV shows, but with perspective and in I Want Your Sex, he explores sex through generations.

The film was inspired by the recent Gen Z stats surrounding sex, showing the generation’s decreasing participation in it. “In the scene where Cooper’s character and Olivia’s character are sitting on a couch, just like this, where she’s sort of the Gen X, and he’s the Gen Z, and they’re like, ‘What the fuck is going on with your generation?'” Araki said in an interview while explaining the film. “She was very much kind of the mouthpiece for me. It’s like, kids, come on! This is the prime of your life. Now’s the time.”
