‘Way of the Warrior Kid’: First Images Tease the New Chris Pratt led Dramedy!! Check It Out!!

2026 is shaping up to be a big year for Chris Pratt, despite his latest sci-fi movie with Rebecca Ferguson failing to get off the ground at the box office. He will next be seen reprising his role as Mario in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and now another of his 2026 films just got an exciting update. Apple TV has officially announced Way of the Warrior Kid, Pratt’s next movie that co-stars Linda Cardellini and Jude Hill, which will premiere later this year on November 20. Apple has also released the first images from the film, which can be found below.

Way of the Warrior Kid was originally going to be released last Christmas, but Apple TV has since pushed it back to later this year to give it more time to breathe from some of Pratt’s other projects. In addition to releasing some first images from the film, Apple TV has also released an official synopsis for Way of the Warrior Kid, featuring Chris Pratt as a decorated Navy SEAL who helps teach his nephew to defend himself:

“Middle school has been a nightmare for Marc (Jude Hill), a good kid who’s bullied by his classmates and feels like he’s behind in everything, from academics to P.E. to just making friends. That changes when his injured Uncle Jake (Chris Pratt), a decorated Navy SEAL, comes to spend the summer and recuperate with Marc and his mom, Sarah (Linda Cardellini). To help Marc defend himself, Jake devises an ambitious program he calls “Operation Warrior Kid” based on his SEAL training. Instead of teaching his nephew how to fight, Jake shows Marc what real courage is, facing down his own demons along the way.”

The film is based on the novel of the same name by Jocko Willink, and McG is directing with a script from Will Staples.

Is Chris Pratt’s New Sci-Fi Movie on Streaming?

Chris Pratt’s latest movie comes in the form of Mercy, the sci-fi thriller that co-stars Rebecca Ferguson. The film follows a police officer who is accused of killing his wife, and it’s set in a dystopian future where those accused of murder must defend themselves against an AI judge. The film debuted with poor scores on Rotten Tomatoes, and it’s also shaping up to be a failure at the box office. Mercy is not yet on streaming, but when it does make its debut, look for it to debut on Prime Video or Amazon MGM+.
