‘Scrubs’ Revival Trailer Finds the Gang Back at Sacred Heart Hospital!! Check It Out!!

Move over, The Pitt. After sixteen years, Scrubs is back for another prescription of medical mirth with its 10th season. The gang’s all here at Sacred Heart Hospital in the new trailer for the sitcom revival, which will premiere with a double episode on February 25 on ABC. In the new trailer, we see that not too much has changed in the decade and a half since we last saw J.D. (Zach Braff) and his pals.

He and Chris Turk (Donald Faison) are still best buds, although their signature “Eagle!” piggyback move is getting less feasible as they enter middle age. Eliot Reid (Sarah Chalke) still has no rhythm, much to the amusement of Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes). And Perry Cox (John C. McGinley) is still a jerk: asked to tone it down by newcomer Sibby (Vanessa Bayer), he asks if he doesn’t get three strikes, only to be informed that he’s on his 900th. Unfortunately, they’ve now been tasked with training a motley crew of new medical interns with shaky hands and aversions to blood. Can they succeed? You’ll have to tune in to ABC later this month.

How Did ‘Scrubs’ End?

Scrubs ended twice already, sort of. In the season 8 finale, “My Finale,” J.D. decides to move to be closer to his son, and leaves Sacred Heart. He attempts to have a perfect last day, but keeps getting things wrong, and gets overshadowed by the simultaneous departure of Dr. Bob Kelso (Ken Jenkins), who is finally retiring. He does achieve closure with his longtime nemesis the Janitor (Neil Flynn), who finally reveals his real name…maybe. In his final moments at Sacred Heart, he has a vision of his future with Eliot, and all his friends and family. However, while that two-part episode was intended as a series finale, the show was renewed for a ninth season; only Braff, Faison, and McGinley stayed on as regulars, while the focus shifted to a new crop of interns, including Kerry Bishé and Dave Franco. That incarnation of the show came to an end after a single 13-episode season.

Scrubs was created by Bill Lawrence (Ted Lasso, Shrinking), and was inspired by the experiences of his friend, Dr. Jonathan Doris.; the show’s main character, J.D. was named after him, and the real Doris cameos in the season 8 finale. The series aired on NBC for its first seven seasons, and moved to ABC for seasons 8 and 9.

The revived 10th season of Scrubs will premiere on ABC with a double episode on February 25.
