‘The Batman: Part II’ to Begin Filming in May 2026!!

There are thousands of comic book characters that legendary writers have developed over the years, but you have reached the pinnacle of popularity, such as Batman. It’s been almost 90 years since the first Batman comic was released, and the character has since been adapted into countless live-action and animated movies and TV shows. The late Adam West took on the silliest version of the character back in the 1960s, but in the years since, plenty of other stars, such as George Clooney, Val Kilmer, and even Christian Bale, have taken their turn as The Dark Knight. The most recent actor to suit up in the cape and cowl is Robert Pattinson, who was once just known for his role in Twilight, but has since blossomed into one of the biggest movie stars in the world.

Robert Pattinson was introduced as Bruce Wayne in 2022’s The Batman, which was an instant sensation among critics and audiences. Hailing from director Matt Reeves, famous for his work with the Planet of the Apes movies, The Batman was a global sensation that grossed over $750 million at the box office. The film was such a success that green-lighting a sequel was a no-brainer, but things struggled to get off the ground when James Gunn took creative control of DC. Now, all these years later, after countless updates, we finally know when The Batman: Part II will begin filming. News broke yesterday afternoon that cameras are expected to roll on The Batman 2 in late May, which will give the film ample time to meet its October 1, 2027, release date.

Who Stars in ‘The Batman: Part II’?

Surrounding Robert Pattinson in the first Batman movie were Andy Serkis as Alfred, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, and Paul Dano as The Riddler. Serkis and Wright are expected to return in the sequel, which even cast a pair of Marvel veterans, Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson. Officially, details about their roles are being kept under wraps, but it’s heavily speculated that Sebastian Stan will play Harvey Dent, the signature Batman villain, also known as Two-Face. After headlining his own spin-off series, Colin Farrell is also expected to briefly reprise his role as Oz Cobb/The Penguin in The Batman: Part II. Matt Reeves is once again directing with a script from Mattson Tomlin.
