‘The Four Seasons’ Season 2 Releases First Images & Confirms Release Date!! Check It Out!!

In less than two months, Netflix will officially check back into The Four Seasons. Season 2 of the comedy series starring Tina Fey and Will Forte has been confirmed for a May 28 release date, almost exactly one year after the streamer’s first set of vacations arrived. Accompanying the announcement, a massive batch of first-look images was released, highlighting the many couples and friends about to meet back up for more getaways that are sure to start relaxing and end in drama. Fellow series regulars Kerri Kenney-Silver, Marco Calvani, Erika Henningsen, and Colman Domingo are also returning.

Season 1 of The Four Seasons adapted Alan Alda‘s 1981 movie of the same name with a fresh coat of paint and some new faces in the role of six close friends who take a different trip correlating to each season. However, their longtime dynamic is completely thrown off when one of the couples, Nick (Steve Carell) and Anne (Kenney-Silver), is about to split up, and Nick has already started dating someone new, Ginny (Henningsen). It’s a bit of an awkward shift that forces old issues and new rifts to appear within all of their relationships, creating a cloud hanging over their various trips. Despite everything, they managed to weather the storm of comedy and drama, though not without losing Nick to a fatal car crash, a moment that, oddly, helps them remember what’s important.

In Season 2, the dynamic is similar with the six friends, now including Ginny, back on vacation through winter, spring, summer, and fall. Not much is known about the specifics of their new adventures together, but the first images offer an indication of the good times left to be had. The biggest development has to be Ginny’s baby bump, after it was revealed at the end of Season 1 that she was pregnant with Nick’s child. She and Anne have grown surprisingly close despite their past, and their dynamic will be one of several on display in the show’s return. Beyond that, there are plenty of smiles going around as the friends mostly seem happier than ever after working past their problems. Kate’s (Fey) Catskills sweatshirt in one photo also teases where they may be heading next. However, there may yet be more trouble in paradise, as one shot shows the group minus Ginny gathered together and looking shocked at some potentially awful news.

‘The Four Seasons’ Season 2 Reunites the Same Creative Team

In addition to starring, Fey is also back at the helm creatively with Lang Fisher, who also directs, and Tracey Wigfield for The Four Seasons Season 2. They’re joined as executive producers on the series by David Miner, Jeff Richmond, and Eric Gurian. Together, they’ll look to build on a season of television that not only succeeded with most critics to the tune of a Certified Fresh 78% Rotten Tomatoes score, but also became the sleeper hit of the year on Netflix with nearly 11.9 million views racked up across its first four days on the platform. Domingo also earned an Emmy nomination for his efforts. With its host of charming comedic talent back for more fun, expectations will be high for The Four Seasons to deliver another worthwhile comfort watch, whatever season it is.
