Netflix has been around long enough to have plenty of flagship properties, and one of its biggest shows to date is The Night Agent. The show has been hailed as Netflix’s answer to Reacher, the hit Prime Video series starring gargantuan action icon Alan Ritchson. While Reacher isn’t exactly the same as The Night Agent, fans of one show are almost guaranteed to appreciate the nuances in the other. Reacher follows a former military operative who finds himself in situations where his skillset proves useful, and The Night Agent follows a CIA operative who gets tangled in all sorts of government conspiracies. Both shows are action-heavy and feature their fair share of thrills, and there’s a reason they’ve both been so popular through their first few seasons.
The Night Agent has been trending in a different direction than Reacher, though, which has improved in viewership through each of its first three seasons. The Night Agent has decreased in viewership from Seasons 1 through 3, with the first season picking up 20.6 million viewers and the second earning 13.6 million viewers. Viewership data for The Night Agent Season 3 shows that it picked up only 8.6 million views during the same amount of time, confirming that the series has lost over 11 million views since its original debut back in 2023. Still, despite this decline in viewership, Netflix has doubled down and renewed The Night Agent for a fourth season. This may come as a shock, but series creator Shawn Ryan had confirmed even before the release of Season 3 that Netflix had footed the bill to begin the Season 4 writer’s room.
When Does ‘The Night Agent’ Season 4 Come Out?
While Netflix did confirm in its official renewal report for The Night Agent that the next season will film in Los Angeles, it does not reveal any potential timeline for shooting or a release date. The show hasn’t had much trouble releasing new seasons almost yearly, so it’s not impossible that the fourth season could premiere before the end of next year, especially considering the writer’s room has already begun. Series star Gabriel Basso is getting busier by the day, though, so the production team will likely have to work around his schedule.
